Camel is another well established brand in the world of tobacco. It is owned by the R.J. Reynolds Tobacco Company. The launch of this brand on the market accidentally coincided with the US entering WWI. Thus the slogan appeared "the Camels are coming". Back in the days people just loved rolling their own cigarettes so Camel mimicked the taste and feel of those. This is why it became so successful. They started using Turkish tobacco which was the main ingredient used in hand made cigarettes and later on they have added Turkish paper as well so they can clone the hand made ones as much as possible. The brand is popular and going strong.
